  We hiked down from Masca to the beach. I would like to say the scenery is breathtakingly but I didn't see much of it as I was worried about falling or breaking a bone during the descent!

  Please be aware that the majority of the route has no defined path or trail, you are literally walking in the river bed. There are sections that are more like a climb or scramble than a walk. We saw one gentleman going in the other direction fall while attempting to climb a waterfall. I wish we had done the route in the opposite direction now.

  Very nice, quite challenging hike. The path is very beaten and can be quite hazardous at points, without any warning really.

  A very deep and rocky canyon from Masca village to the coast, about 8 km long, but it feels longer! Some spots require that you are in good shape. The canyon walls are so high that the bottom is cool all times.

  Great hike. I prefer going up by taking a boat trip from los gigantes. This way you avoid queuing behind crowds and aching legs. Be careful when there is flowing water the trek crosses shallow water at various points. Wear walking shoes or boots. Trainers and flip flops are sloppy and provide no ankle support. I have climbed it in trainers but wasn’t as relaxing. Beautiful scenery and lovely water canals. 1500 were created and tap into the water trapped by rain filtering into the rocks. Careful not to each any plants are a few are poisonous. Careful of landslides and falling rocks. Go with a guide if you want to learn more and feel safer. Take plenty of water too. It’s a 3 hour trek. If you are trekking down remember the last boat time at the bottom. At the top there are a few bars and restaurants. The view is fantastic. Half way down the trek is an area where small birds will eat from your hand if you are very still.

  If you are sufficiently fit and agile it is a beautiful route but it is not for everyone!

  Very nice place and the trip too. I was happy go throught this place. The eand of trip was amaizing. The people on the road was friendly and happy too. Nice wiews.
