  The walk down can be harder as the climb up depending on how strong your knees are. It took us longer to get down than up because there are a lot of large rocks that need to be climbed down. Fun walk with many great photo spots. Make sure to start early (08:30) before the parking spots are gone and all the badly prepared tourists come. Take swim stuff for the beach - it's fantastic.

  You'll feel like Indiana Jones. Better to be early since there are less people on the trek. Don't forget your swimming gear since at the end of the trek there's a spectacular bay.

  Definitely, a must-do in Tenerife. Picturesque landscape and awesome experience. Do not do the mistake of some to come to Masca by car. After you go down the track you will not be willing to go up. The best way to enjoy the track is to leave your car in Los Gigantes and come to Masca by local bus (a change in Santiago del Teide is needed, Google Maps is helpful to find the right bus routes and tickets are cheap). Then take a water taxi from Playa de Masca to Los Gigantes. It will take 3 hours to get down to the Playa de Masca if you are not in a hurry and also take a break to have a snack.

  Beautiful hike. We did it with our two daughters (2,5 and 5 months) in 3,5 hours including two breaks and the oldest walking herself now and then. Some tricky parts so a medium level of fitness is required.

  Gorgeous walk into the barranco de Masca which is surrounded by dramatic cliffs. Challenging walk due to the rocky terrain - we were glad to have hiking shoes. Well worth it. We left at 2pm and arrived at the dark sandy beach of Masca at around 4.20pm. We didn't come across many people going down. We took the last boat at 5.30pm which we pre-booked online. Stunning views all the way, we really enjoyed it!
